Red Wing Municipal Golf Corporation
a non-profit golf course management corporation
Please feel free to contact us with any questions, we will answer them as soon as possible.
Red Wing Municipal Golf Corporation, a non-profit golf course operations corporation, is dedicated to operating our locally-owned municipal golf course as a self-sustaining entity free of taxpayer expense. We are committed to operating our golf course with a singular goal of preserving and enhancing our public asset.
Thank you for visiting the website of Red Wing Municipal Golf Corporation. This site is designed to educate the citizens of Red Wing, Minnesota and all other persons concerned. We strive to give a comprehensive overview of RWMGC and will be adding content as soon as available.
Even after receiving feedback from those that did not choose to submit a proposal to the RFP from the City, the council, at last night’s meeting, decided to go one step forward in negotiations with Red Wing Municipal Golf Corp. This means we are one step closer to being HOME to golf next season. In the next two weeks, RWMGC and the City will be trying to tie down firm numbers and language so that a final "GO" can be issued at the next council meeting.
We are not quite home yet, but close. We need to complete our goal in fund raising. We are about 3/4 of the way there, needing about $100,000 to finish.
TO THOSE WHO HAVE PLEDGED: you cannot be thanked enough. Please know that we couldn't have come this far without your help. When you are golfing at MNGL next year, you can take pride in knowing that your gift played a part in making it happen. And, if discussions and negotiations with the City go as expected, your pledge will need to be fulfilled as cash sometime in the next month.
TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET PLEDGED: it is not too late. In fact you can be a major player in achieving the goal. It could be that you have been waiting to see what the City would do. Last night’s decision to proceed with RWMGC to the next step is VERY positive. Now is the time to step forward. It is most important that we reach our goal for the following reasons:
1) Having a $400,000 bank balance negates the need to have the City co-sign a note for an equipment lease, something they will not do.
2) Even at a balance of $400,000, our start up margin is narrow. We cannot afford to be underfunded if we have a spring like this year.
And so, if we want to come HOME to play next spring, we really do need everyone's help and participation. A pledge form is at the bottom of this e-mail. If the time is right for you please fill it out and return it to any RWMGC board member. If you have already pledged, another friend of MNGL might be able to use it. We know we are still missing some of the names / e-mail address of members / supporters so please let us know if anyone has not gotten the information on the status of opening the course or pledge form.
Your gift cannot be a loan. It can only be considered a gift. RWMGC has applied and in the process of getting 501(C)3 corporation tax exempt status, which means it can be deducted on the tax forms as a gift. You may send a check rather than make a pledge. In any case, the pledge would need to be fulfilled at the time that RWMGC receives course responsibility.
Please, use the form below and return it to:
